Job summary

Community LIFE is seeking an Activities Coordinator to oversee the planning and implementation of therapeutic activities for elderly participants. Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience leading activities for the elderly required.
  • Supervisory experience highly preferred.
  • Valid PA Driver's License; CTRS or MT highly preferred.

Job description

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (15221)

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 4:00pm with flexibility based on participant need

Summary of Job Duties:

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive program of therapeutic activities for all participants and the general supervision of the Activities staff. The Activities Coordinator works cooperatively with the Day Center Supervisor and all center staff with scheduling and implementing therapeutic activities. The Activities Coordinator must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, plan care for and provide service to frail elders according to assigned responsibilities and Community LIFE standards. The Activities Coordinator may be required to make in-home visits as necessary for assessment and on-going case management.

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or High School diploma plus 4 years of experience coordinating and leading activities for the elderly (this is in addition to the below experience requirement.)

Required Experience:

  • One year of experience leading or directing recreation activities with a frail or elderly population required; preferably in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Supervisory experience highlypreferred.

Required Licensure:Valid PA Driver's License. CTRS or MT highly preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to plan and supervise the work of others, to work cooperatively with others and to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to accept and utilize supervision to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with staff, participants, providers and referral sources.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong teamwork and conflict resolution skills.
