Job summary

The Neighborhoods of White Lake is seeking a Community Life Aide to join our activities department. Under the direction of the Community Life Director, you will assist in planning, implementing and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs, in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan.

Qualifications

• Chauffeur license desirable and may be required to obtain a class C driver’s or Chauffeur’s license.
• Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation, planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating of the community life(activity) programs of this Community.
• Interview residents or family members in a private setting to obtain life history information and to plan meaningful and relevant objectives and goals for the resident. Serve as on-site community representative to involve the resident/family in planning goals whenever possible.
• Assist residents to improve their daily life by promoting socialization, expanding personnel interests, increasing physical activity and continue lifelong learning.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior and degree of involvement so that department can evaluate resident progress, by noting, reporting and charting resident behavior.
