Job summary

Oak Point of Kearney, A Viva Senior Living Community is seeking an Activities Assistant to support residents in enrichment and social engagement. You will help create a welcoming, home-like atmosphere and plan engaging activities that respond to individual interests and abilities.

The role emphasizes compassion, teamwork, and flexible hours, including some weekends. The facility offers a supportive environment and opportunities to contribute to resident well-being.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, patient demeanor and genuine interest in working with seniors.
• Experience in memory care or senior living preferred.
• Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Able to lift 25 pounds to 5 feet and move 50 feet.

• Encourage – allow resident participation while respecting individual preferences and abilities.
• Collaboration – work with the Director of Engagement to bring life to the community.
• Plan – develop and implement activity programs tailored to participants' interests and needs.

Requirements

What you bring:

• Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine interest in working with seniors.
• Previous experience in a memory care or senior living setting preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
• Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED.
