Job summary

East Bay Post Acute in Castro Valley is seeking a Weekend Activities Assistant to enrich the lives of our residents. This part-time weekend role suits someone who enjoys working with seniors and delivering meaningful experiences.

You will plan and lead recreational, social, and therapeutic activities, support events, and work closely with the Activities Director and care teams to meet residents' needs. Prior experience in healthcare or customer service is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with seniors/healthcare/recreation/customer service is a plus.
• Friendly, dependable, patient and compassionate.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to stand, walk, lift activity supplies, and assist residents.

• Encourage resident participation in group and one-on-one activities.
• Set up and clean up activity areas and supplies.
• Escort residents to and from activities as needed.

• Work closely with the Activities Director and interdisciplinary team to meet residents' individual interests and needs.
