Job summary

Watermark Retirement Communities is seeking an Activities Coordinator to create engaging programs for our residents. This role emphasizes compassion, creativity, and collaboration with care teams to enhance quality of life in our senior living communities.

You will plan, implement, and adjust activities, requiring weekend and holiday availability and strong communication with residents, families, and staff. Experience in long-term care is preferred, and a passion for seniors is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience planning and delivering activities for seniors.
• Experience in short-term and long-term care settings.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Degree in therapeutic recreation or related field preferred.
• Strong communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging activities for residents.
• Coordinate with care teams to meet residents' social and recreational needs.
• Schedule and facilitate events, fostering a caring community.
• Maintain accurate activity records and participate in training.

Job Requirements

• 2 years’ experience in preparing and implementing Activities preferred
• Experience working in short term and long term care preferred
• Able to work weekends and holidays
• Degree in therapeutic recreation or related field a plus
• 2-4 years’ experience in resident programming preferred
• Passion for seniors
• Excellent communication skills
• Computer literate
