Job summary

Clarendale of Algonquin is seeking a compassionate Activities Assistant to support Memory Care residents. You will plan, schedule, and lead meaningful activities that promote physical, mental, and social well-being, in coordination with the Life Enrichment team.

The position is part-time with a schedule of Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings. Benefits are available for qualifying part-time staff, including health and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Six months' experience with seniors in activities or life enrichment preferred.
• Memory Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and lead meaningful activities for Memory Care residents.
• Assist the Director of Life Enrichment with planning and coordinating activities and events.
• Lead daily resident activities to support engagement and mental health.
• Prepare and distribute monthly event calendars for residents and staff.
• Partner with leadership and other staff to address resident needs.

We are looking for a compassionate and creative Activities Assistant to support our senior citizen residents in our Memory Care department. In this role you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and leading meaningful activities that are appropriate to the needs and interests of Memory Care residents and are conducive to their physical, mental and social well-being.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities:

• Support resident wellness by planning and leading diverse and engaging activity programs to meet the needs our resident population, including seniors in need of physical assistance and seniors in varying stages of memory loss.
• Assist the Director of Life Enrichment with planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities for residents, including special or seasonal events, following the guidelines of several Life Enrichment programs (Lifestyles and Health Services, Embrace the World, Ambassador, and Heartfelt Connections Memory Care Program).
• Lead daily resident activities for Memory Care residents to support resident engagement and mental health, per our Community standards.
• Assist with preparing and distributing monthly event calendars for residents and staff to raise awareness of activities in the community and promote communication.
• Partner with leadership and other staff to address resident needs.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Six months' experience working with seniors in activities or life enrichment preferred.
• Memory Care experience is preferred.

Pay Range: $15.00-$17.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Work Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (part-time role)
