Qualifications

The Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting in planning, coordinating, and implementing appropriate activity programs to meet the individual needs of our residents.

  • Developing and implementing activity programs suitable to residents' backgrounds, emotional needs, and interests
  • Assisting the Activities Director with evaluating residents based on their backgrounds, interests, abilities, and physical limitations
  • Documenting activity plans and progress notes as directed
  • Working closely with the Activities Director to plan and set up activities, including gathering supplies and rearranging rooms
  • Assisting in the development and distribution of monthly activity calendars and posting them throughout the facility
  • Helping develop and maintain facility newsletters
  • Ensuring safety, infection control, and cleanliness in accordance with facility policy

Qualifications for Activities Assistant

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of computer use, email, and software such as Word and Excel
  • Understanding of best Activities practices
  • Patience, cheerfulness, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle residents at various maturity and physical levels
  • Ability to protect confidential information in compliance with HIPAA and corporate policies
  • Experience in long-term care preferred
