Job summary

Elkhorn Healthcare and Rehabilitation is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan, organize, and direct a program of activities for residents, supporting their entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and expression needs. The role assists the Director of Activities in developing quality activities aligned with care plans and patient preferences.

The position requires long-term care knowledge, at least 1 year of relevant experience, completion of required training, and the ability to pass health

Qualifications

• Sufficient knowledge and experience in long-term care.
• Minimum 1 year experience as an Activities Assistant.
• Successful completion of a training and competency evaluation program.
• Completion of orientation required by company policy.
• Health screening and TB test within two weeks of employment.
• Mandatory drug test within 90 days of hire.
• Must be free of criminal activity proven by a criminal background check.
• Show within three (3) days of hire satisfactory evidence of identity and eligibility for employment.
• High school Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct a program of activities which provides opportunity for entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and expression and fulfills basic psychological, social, and spiritual needs which will be available to all residents of the facility.
• Assist the Director of Activities with planning, organizing, developing, and directing quality activities for patients, ensuring that needs of each patient are met.
