Job summary

Heartland Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kentucky is seeking an Activities Assistant. This part-time role features rotating weekends and focuses on engaging residents in activities, social events, and community programs.

You will assist with grooming, outings, and coordinating volunteers, while building strong relationships with residents, families, and staff to enrich daily living and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with grooming before activities.
• Assess resident abilities for activities and programs.
• Recruit and coordinate volunteers for activities.
• Support Resident and Family Councils and communicate concerns.
• Assist with charitable fundraising activities as needed.
• Sort and deliver resident mail and newspapers daily.
• Support daily activities, events, and in-room visits.
• Assist with resident outings.

Do you have strong interpersonal skills and a passion for geriatrics? If so, consider joining our team! We have a unique career opportunity available for an Activities Assistant. This is a part-time position with rotating weekends.

Activities Assistant Job Duties:

The Activities Assistant will primarily be responsible for assisting with resident activities. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist residents with grooming needs prior to attending activities.
• Assess resident capabilities concerning activities and group programs.
• Assist in recruiting and maintaining volunteers to assist in activity programs.
• Assist the Resident and Family Councils and bring their concerns to the attention of the Administrator and other appropriate staff.
• Assist with all charitable fundraising activities as needed.
• Responsible for seeing that the resident mail and newspapers are sorted and delivered to the residents each day.
• Perform daily activities, special events, and in-room visits.
• Assist with resident outings.

Activities Assistant Requirements:

• Certified Nurse Aide preferred.
• Minimum of a high school diploma or completed a GED program preferred.
