Job summary

Sunnyvale Gardens Post Acute in Sunnyvale, CA, is hiring a full-time Activities Assistant to join our life enrichment team. You will help plan, organize, and lead daily activities that bring joy, engagement, and a sense of community to our residents.

If you love connecting with seniors, you will conduct group activities, visit residents one-on-one, assist with calendars and holiday decorations, and ensure safe transport to events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead group activities including arts and crafts, music, games, and discussion groups.
• Conduct one-on-one visits with residents who cannot attend group events.
• Assist in planning monthly activity calendars and decorating the facility for holidays.
• Set up activity rooms and transport residents safely to and from events.
• Document resident participation and progress according to regulatory guidelines.
• Encourage and motivate residents to maintain their hobbies and social connections.
