Job summary

Sunnyvale Gardens Post Acute in Sunnyvale, CA is hiring a Full-Time Activities Assistant to join our life enrichment team. You will help plan, organize, and lead daily activities that promote joy, engagement, and social connection for residents.

You will lead group activities, conduct one-on-one visits, assist in monthly calendars and decorating, set up rooms, transport residents safely, document participation, and encourage hobbies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a skilled nursing, assisted living, or long-term care setting preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Outgoing personality with a passion for serving the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Lead group activities including arts and crafts, music, games, and discussion groups.
• Conduct one-on-one visits with residents who cannot attend group events.
• Assist in planning monthly activity calendars and decorating the facility for holidays.
• Set up activity rooms and transport residents safely to and from events.
• Document resident participation and progress according to regulatory guidelines.
• Encourage and motivate residents to maintain their hobbies and social connections.
