Job summary

Cape Heritage Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Sandwich, MA is hiring a fun and creative Activities Assistant to join our recreation team. You will assist in planning, organizing, developing, and directing daily events and programming for residents, including arts & crafts, performances, and other activities.

40 hours per week with weekly pay at $18 per hour. We offer training for the right candidate and opportunities for career advancement within a supportive, diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent. Training offered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Help coordinate and run events and activities programming.
• Build relationships with residents and tailor programming to their interests.
• Organize group and individual programming.
• Generate ideas to excite residents and encourage participation.
• Encourage participants to engage in activities addressing physical, mental, social, and spiritual needs.
• Assist with resident care goals within the therapeutic team framework.
• Document and report unusual or significant findings.
• Report all reportable events immediately.

Experience & Education:

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Help coordinate and run events and activities programming.
• Build relationships with residents and learn about their interests to tailor programming to their desires.
• Organize group and individual programming.
• Generate ideas that will excite and encourage residents to participate in programming.
• Encourage residents to take part in activities that will stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
• Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team.
• Document and report any unusual or significant findings.
• Report all reportable events immediately.
