Job summary

Cape Heritage Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Sandwich is hiring an Activities Assistant to join our recreation team. The role involves planning, coordinating, and directing daily events and programming for residents, including arts & crafts, performances, and other activities.

40 hours per week with an every-other-weekend rotation. Weekly pay at $18 an hour. We train the right candidate and provide opportunities for career advancement within the recreation team.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Help coordinate and run events and activities programming.
• Build relationships with residents and learn about their interests to tailor programming to their desires.
• Organize group and individual programming.
• Generate ideas that will excite and encourage residents to participate in programming.
• Encourage residents to take part in activities that will stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
• Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team.
• Document and report any unusual or significant findings.
• Report all reportable events immediately.
