Job summary

Cape Heritage Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Sandwich, MA is seeking a creative Activities Assistant to join our recreation team. The role involves planning, organizing, and directing daily events for residents, including arts and crafts, performances, and other activities.

You will work 40 hours per week with weekly pay at $18 per hour, help tailor programming to residents' interests, build meaningful relationships, and collaborate with the therapeutic team to support residents’

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Help coordinate and run events and activities programming.
• Build relationships with residents and tailor programming to their interests.
• Organize group and individual programming.
• Generate ideas to excite residents to participate in programming.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities that support physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being.
• Assist with resident care goals within the therapeutic team.
• Document and report any unusual or significant findings.
• Report all reportable events immediately.

As an Activities Assistant, you assist the department in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the daily events and programming for residents, including arts & crafts, performances, and other activities.

Experience & Education:

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• We can train the right candidate!

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Help coordinate and run events and activities programming.
• Build relationships with residents and learn about their interests to tailor programming to their desires.
• Organize group and individual programming.
• Generate ideas that will excite and encourage residents to participate in programming.
• Encourage residents to take part in activities that will stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
• Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team.
• Document and report any unusual or significant findings.
• Report all reportable events immediately.
