Job summary

Cornerstone Assisted Living, a Cassia community, seeks an energetic Activities Assistant to join the Life Enrichment team in Plymouth, MN. You will plan and lead activities, support community events, and help residents participate in recreational programs, including transporting residents to outings.

A valid MN driver's license and ability to pass a DOT exam are required. Hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends or evenings for activities.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with seniors preferred, but not required.
• Ability to plan and lead activities and assist participation in programs.
• Must be 21+ to meet driving requirements and pass DOT-related checks.

Responsibilities

• Encourage, support, and assist residents with activities.
• Interact one-to-one with residents outside structured times.

• Transport residents to outings using Cornerstone bus/van.

Cornerstone Assisted Living, a Cassia community, is hiring friendly and enthusiastic Activities Assistants to join our Life Enrichment team!

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to engage residents in activities, events, and outings that promote connection, purpose, and enjoyment. If you're energetic, creative, and enjoy building relationships, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

As an Activities Assistant at Cornerstone, you'll help plan and lead activities, support community events, and assist residents with participation in recreational and social programs. This position also includes transporting residents to outings, so a valid driver's license is required, along with a willingness to take a DOT physical exam. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, and enjoys creating positive experiences for older adults. Position Type: Full-Time

Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Must be able to work an occasional weekend or evening for activity purposes.

Pay: $15.53 - $18.28 per hour depending on experience

Activities Assistant Responsibilities:

• Encourage, support, and assist residents with activities.
• Interact and assist residents on a one-to-one basis outside of structured program times.
• Document activity attendance and degree of involvement.
• Act as a positive representative at all times.
• Transport participants using Cornerstone 14 passenger bus/van to scheduled outings.
• Display an attitude of courtesy and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
• Perform other related tasks as needed.

Activities Assistant Qualifications:

• Prior experience working with seniors preferred, but not required.
• Demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities.
• Creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts, and games.
• Good communication skills, including the ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easily understood.
• Must be 21+ years of age to meet federal and insurance requirements for driving activity bus.
• Must possess a valid MN Driver's License.
• Must be willing and able to pass a DOT physical exam.
