Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a part-time Activities Assistant!

Essential Functions:

  1. Assist in planning, coordinating, and evaluating resident activities.
  2. Encourage resident participation in programs and activities.
  3. Escort residents on activities away from the property as assigned.
  4. Assist with the registration of residents for trips and programs.
  5. Conduct various activities at the direction of the Resident Program Director.
  6. Maintain necessary activity supplies, which may include outside purchasing.
  7. Assist in surveying and interviewing residents to determine interests, talents, and satisfaction.
  8. Maintain general observation of residents and share appropriate information with staff.
  9. Follow departmental budget guidelines.
  10. Attend all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
  11. Strive to maintain a safe working environment through accident prevention, equipment preservation, and safe practices.
  12. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
  13. Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience.
  2. Six (6) months to one (1) year experience or related experience performing activity-related duties.
  3. Ability to assume leadership role in the activities department in the absence of the Activities Director.
  4. Skill at working with individuals who have cognitive, physical, or sensory disabilities.
  5. Moderate physical activity:
  • Requires handling of objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Repetitive standing and walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
  • Repetitive bending and stooping for more than one (1) hour at a time.
  • Sitting for more than two (2) hours at a time.
  • May require computer work with repetitive typing and concentration.
  • Physical ability to travel to sites.
