Activities Assistant
We are seeking a motivated and caring Activities Assistant to join our team at Nemasket Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Middleborough, MA. As a vital member of our activity team, you will play a key role in planning, organizing, and directing quality activities for our patients, ensuring their recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs are met.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Activities in planning, developing, and directing quality activities for patients
- Implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
- Perform proficiently in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain professional working relationships with all employees, vendors, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information
- Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
Essential Functions
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs
- Chart patient progress and behavior accurately and descriptively
- Escort patients to and from activities
- Make regular in-room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate in group activities
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
- Assist in the evacuation of patients
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
- Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Requirements
- Prior experience with geriatrics preferred
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Ability to implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
- Must perform proficiently in all competency areas
