Job summary

Valley View Health and Rehabilitation is seeking an Activities Assistant to create joyful daily programs that engage residents and enhance quality of life. You will organize group activities, support one-on-one visits with room-bound residents, and help foster a home-like environment focused on dignity and respect.

• Experience with elderly or disabled individuals preferred.
• Creative and enthusiastic personality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude with patience and compassion.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and conducting scheduled group activities.
• Transport residents to and from activities.
• Provide activities and engagement for room-bound residents.
• Record resident participation and responses to activities.
• Assist residents with grooming and participation as needed.
• Deliver and read mail to residents requiring assistance.
• Assist with menu selections where applicable.
• Support volunteer programs and community involvement.
• Help create activity calendars, bulletin boards, and resident room personalization.
• Communicate resident concerns or condition changes to appropriate staff.
• Promote resident dignity, privacy, and respect at all times.

Position Summary
