Join Our Team as an Activities Assistant

Hamilton Nursing Home – Hamilton, MI

Hamilton Nursing Home is currently seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our team at our skilled nursing facility in Hamilton, Michigan. Under the direction of the Director of Activities, this role plays a vital part in enriching the lives of our residents through engaging, purposeful programming.

Schedule :

Full-Time | Day Shift

Responsibilities :

The Activities Assistant helps ensure the emotional, social, and recreational well-being of our residents by :

Supporting residents with daily tasks such as letter writing, making phone calls, and registering to vote.

Assisting in documenting resident participation and progress in activities.

Helping with daily operations such as delivering mail, escorting residents to activities, caring for plants and facility pets / fish, and preparing the monthly newsletter.

Making morning announcements over the PA system and supporting fundraising initiatives.

Carrying out activities that promote communication, entertainment, relaxation, creativity, and spiritual fulfillment, as outlined by the Director of Activities.

Distributing craft supplies and supervising residents during creative programs to encourage participation and maximize each individual’s potential.

Qualifications :

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience working in long-term care or with the elderly or disabled is a plus.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
