Apple Valley Health Care Center, part of the Cassia community, is hiring an Activities Assistant to join our team in Apple Valley, MN. This part-time role features a varied schedule and opportunities to engage residents in meaningful activities.

Shifts include every other weekend from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with wage range $17 to $22.85 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with seniors preferred, but not required.
• Demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to show enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
• Creative aptitude for arts, crafts, and games.
• Strong communication, pleasant and clear directions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead small group activity programs including games, discussion groups, exercises, and trivia.
• Interact and assist residents one-on-one outside structured times.
• Document activity attendance and involvement.
• Act as a positive representative at all times.
• Display courtesy and respect for residents, families, staff.
• Perform other related tasks as needed.

At Apple Valley Village Health Care Center, you'll be part of a supportive, mission-driven team that takes pride in making a difference every day for residents and families alike.

Position Type: Part-Time working a varying schedule

Shifts Available: Every Other Weekend 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Wage Range: $17 - $22.85 /hour depending on experience

Location: 14650 Garrett Ave, Apple Valley, MN 55124

Activities Assistant Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead small group activity programs including a variety of games, discussion groups, exercises, and trivia
• Interact and assist residents on a one to one basis outside of structured program times.
• Document activity attendance and degree of involvement.
• Act as a positive representative at all times.
• Display an attitude of courtesy and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
• Perform other related tasks as needed.

Activities Assistant Qualifications:

• Prior experience working with seniors preferred, but not required.
• Demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities.
• Creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts, and games.
• Good communication skills, including ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easily understood.
