Job summary

Apple Valley Village Health Care Center, a Cassia community, is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan and lead engaging activities for residents in Apple Valley, MN. This part-time role includes a varied schedule and weekend shifts to support daily programs and one-on-one interactions.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a genuine concern for residents’ well-being, bringing creativity and a positive attitude to group games, crafts, and discussions.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with seniors preferred, but not required.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities.
• Creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts, and games.
• Good communication skills, including ability to give directions to others in a pleasant and easily understood manner.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead small group activity programs including games, discussion groups, exercises, and trivia.
• Interact and assist residents one-on-one outside structured times.
• Document activity attendance and degree of involvement.
• Act as a positive representative at all times.
• Display courtesy and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
• Perform other related tasks as needed.
