CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt, part-time hourly support staff employment

JOB SUMMARY: The Administrative Assistant supports the efficient operation of the Activities and Athletics office by performing a wide range of clerical and administrative tasks. This role requires discreet and tactful handling of sensitive and confidential information, strong interpersonal skills, and dependable support for all functions related to the activities and athletic administration.

Must possess strong, positive interpersonal skills including communication, ability to work with a group on problem solving, listening skills, positive attitude and deportment.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and understand. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit. The employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel and reach as well as to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop or kneel and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Regular attendance on the job is expected.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work primarily occurs in a school and office environment that is dynamic, active, and occasionally noisy. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is continuously interacting with the staff, students and community members.
EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated annually according to Board policy and established District standards.
