Job summary

Brendan House is seeking an Activities Aide to plan and support meaningful activities that reflect residents' interests and histories, promoting physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being.

Work with the care team to ensure inclusive, resident-centered programs; document progress, support the Volunteer Program, and maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

  • Healthcare experience of 1+ year preferred.
  • NCCAP certification preferred or training within first year.
  • Familiar with HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
  • CPR certification or obtainable within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and support activities reflecting residents' interests and histories.
  • Assess residents' physical, cognitive, and personal needs.
  • Design and facilitate group and individual activities.
  • Document assessments and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with nursing and other departments to run activities smoothly.

What You'll Do

As an Activities Aide, you'll help bring our residents' days to life by planning and supporting activities that reflect their interests, abilities, and personal histories. Your work will directly support residents' physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing assessments related to residents' physical abilities, cognitive function, and personal interests
  • Designing and facilitating engaging activities for individuals and groups with varying abilities
  • Supporting personalized activity programs that promote participation and enjoyment
  • Completing Activity Department sections of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and Care Area Assessments (CAAs)
  • Documenting assessments and progress notes accurately and on schedule
  • Collaborating with nursing and other departments to ensure activities run smoothly
  • Assisting with the Volunteer Program as directed
  • Maintaining consistent, reliable attendance as scheduled
What You Bring
  • National Certification Council for Activity Professionals Certification (NCCAP) preferred or training to be completed within first year of hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting or related field (preferred)
  • Experience with Point Click Care or similar software (preferred)
  • CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A team-focused mindset with the ability to work independently when needed
  • Comfort using computers, including Microsoft Office, and learning new systems
  • Understanding of confidentiality laws, including HIPAA
  • A commitment to professionalism, integrity, kindness, and empathy

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 A.M.-4:30 P.M.Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
