Job summary

Mountain View Retirement Village in Tucson, AZ is seeking a friendly, creative Activity Aide to bring meaningful programs and daily engagement to residents. You will assist with planning, setup, facilitation, and follow-up of activities that promote residents’ wellbeing.

The role involves encouraging participation, coordinating group and one-on-one activities, and helping create a warm, welcoming environment across the community. No prior experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, organizing, setting up, leading, and evaluating resident activities and events.
  • Encourage participation in activities, crafts, games, outings, and programs.
  • Support both group activities and one-on-one visits with residents needing encouragement.
  • Escort residents and assist with safe participation during programs.
  • Prepare activity rooms, supplies, decorations, and materials; clean up afterward.
  • Observe resident participation and report mood, behavior, and responses.

About the Role

Mountain View Retirement Village is looking for a friendly, creative, and dependable Activity Aide to help bring meaningful programs, socialconnections, and daily engagement to our residents. This role supports the planning, setup, facilitation, and follow-up of activities that promote residents’ social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual well-being.

The right person for this role enjoys working with seniors, brings a positive attitude, and is comfortable encouraging participation,assistingwith group and one-on-one activities, and helping create a warm, welcoming environment throughout the community.

WhatYou’llDo
  • Assistwith planning, organizing, setting up, leading, and evaluating resident activities andspecial events.
  • Encourage residents toparticipatein activities, hobbies, crafts, games, outings, parties, movies, and other programs.
  • Support both group activities and one-on-one visits with residents who may needadditionalencouragement orassistance.
  • Escort residents to and from activity areas andassistwith safe participation during scheduled programs.
  • Help prepare activity rooms, supplies, decorations, equipment, and materials before events and clean up afterward.
  • Observe and report resident participation, mood, behavior, and response to activities as directed.
  • Assistwith activity documentation, attendance tracking, progress notes, forms, and reports as needed.
  • Work closely with the Activity Director and other departments to support resident needs and community events.
  • Assistwith field trips, transportation coordination, volunteer assignments, and community involvement when needed.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality andsupportresident rights, dignity, and independence at all times.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Previousexperience in activities, senior living, assisted living, memory care, recreation, hospitality, or customer service is helpful, but notrequired.
Experience

No prior experience isrequired. We are willing to train the right person who has the right heart, attitude, and dependability.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to move throughout the community during the workday.
  • Must be able toassistwith setting up and moving activity supplies or equipment.
  • Must be able tolift upto 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to handle the mental and emotional demands of working with residents who may be elderly, ill, disabled, or emotionally upset.
  • Mayassistduring emergency situations, drills, or evacuation procedures as directed.
