Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Helps residents maintain their highest level of functioning by presenting appropriate activity programs.
• Motivates residents to take an interest in life and community by exploring hobbies and community activities.
• Delivers mail, flowers and other items to residents and reads mail to residents upon request.
• Prepares for activity programs by ensuring supplies are available and rooms are ready.
• Encourages participation by announcing activities 30 minutes prior to start.
• Assists in transporting residents to activity programs and accompanies them to community events.
• Assists residents in crafts and activity creation such as ceramics, needlework, woodwork, and other crafts.
• Schedules movies, plans parties and provides games/activities for residents.
• Supervises activities as necessary and maintains competency as required.

Education

Job Location: Christ the King Manor - DuBois, PA 15801, Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time, Education Level: None, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Other, The primary purpose of this position is to provide recreational activities for residents by assisting in planning, conducting, and participating in one on one and group activity programs. The Activities Aide also ensures a safe environment for the residents at all times.

Job Responsibilities

• Helps resident maintain their highest level of functioning by presenting appropriate activity programs according to resident's physical capacity, cognitive ability and interest.
• Motivate resident to take an interest in their life and community by investigating alternative methods of activities, resident hobbies, and community interest.
• Delivers mail, flowers and other items to residents in timely manner and reads mail to residents upon request.
• Prepares for activity program by assuring all supplies are available and room is ready.
• Encourages residents to participate by announcing activity 30 minutes before start of activity.
• Assist in transporting residents to activity program.
• Accompanies residents outside facility to participate in community events.
• Assist resident in craft projects and activity.
• Implements activity procedures Assist directed by the Activities Department by creating decorations, setting up necessary equipment, creating ceramics, needlework, woodwork, and other crafts, escorting residents to and from activity area and awarding prizes.
• Assist in scheduling movies, planning parties and providing games/activities for residents.
• Supervise activities as necessary.
• Maintains competency & is tested to be competent in: subject to change based on educational needs of staff.
• Safety and care of resident during transport.
• Safety and care of resident during activities.
• Follows proper procedures during resident activity such as ceramics, crafts, needlework, games, etc.
• Performs other duties as required.
