Job summary

Brethren Care Village in Ashland, OH is seeking an Activities Aide to support our mission by planning, organizing, and directing activity programs under the Life Enrichment Coordinator.

Responsibilities include implementing events, transporting residents, and providing one-on-one activities; maintain records, coordinate with other teams, and assist residents with visits, letters, and small tasks. Onsite presence required.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Current and valid First Aid training (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Ability to pass activity certification program (with training upon hire).
• Onsite presence required.

• Provide one on one activities with residents unable to attend group activities, when time allows.
• Maintain documentation of resident's participation in activities.
• Organize activity in event of a cancelled event.
• Refers residents/families to the Director of Housing if unable to resolve any resident/family concern.
• Develops and maintains a good rapport with other departments to ensure that a team effort is achieved.
• Assists residents by visiting, writing letters, running errands, communicating with others, providing music, etc. as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Full Time | Days and Evenings

Part Time | Days (9am - 2pm) or Eveings (4pm - 8pm) | Including Every Other Weekend from 1pm - 8pm

Pay: $12 - $13.80/hr (Based on experience)

The Activities Aide supports our mission and values by planning, organizing, and directing activity programs under the guidance and supervision of the Life Enrichment Coordinator. Provides recreational programs to increase muscular coordination, promote positive mental stimulation and socialization.

What You'll Do as an Activities Aide:

• Implement planned activities as outlined on calendar of events.
• Transport residents to and from planned activities in and outside the facility.
• Provide one on one activities with residents unable to attend group activities, when time allows.
• Maintain documentation of resident's participation in activities.
• Organize activity in event of a cancelled event.
