Job summary

Steve Madden seeks an experienced Activewear Designer in New York City to join our design team. This hands-on role requires managing multiple projects and taking designs from concept through costing tech packs.

The position is based in NYC with 4 days onsite and 1 day from home. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in activewear or fashion design, strong CAD skills, and proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in activewear, apparel, or fashion design.
• Experience creating complete costing tech packs.
• Strong technical flat-sketching and CAD skills.

Responsibilities

• Create complete costing tech packs independently with garment sketches, construction details, measurements/specs, fabric and trim info, colorways and artwork placements.
• Create and update CADs and colorways in Adobe Illustrator.
• Produce accurate flat sketches/technical garment sketches in Illustrator.
• Collaborate with design, sales, production and merchandising teams throughout development.
• Review samples and communicate design corrections.
