Job summary

Steve Madden is seeking an experienced Activewear Designer to join our NYC-based design team. This hands-on role requires managing multiple projects and supporting daily design-room operations.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in activewear or fashion design, strong CAD/Illustrator skills, and experience creating costing tech packs. The position is full-time with a hybrid onsite/remote schedule in New York City.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in activewear or fashion design.
• Bachelor’s degree in art, Fashion Design, or related field.
• Strong flat-sketching and CAD skills.
• Experience creating complete costing tech packs.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Team-oriented with support for design-room tasks.

Responsibilities

• Create complete costing tech packs independently.
• Update CADs and colorways in Illustrator.
• Produce flat sketches/technical sketches.
• Research trends for activewear, colors, prints.
• Assist with samples and organize design-room tasks.
• Coordinate with design, sales, production, and merchandising teams.
• Maintain accurate design files and samples.
