Leidos is seeking an Active Directory/Exchange Specialist Mid to support NMCI/SMIT for Navy-wide network services, including AD, Exchange, and GAL management. The role emphasizes incident handling, PowerShell scripting, and VMware-based diagnostics in a DoD data center setting.
The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of relevant experience, a DoD Secret clearance, IAT certifications, and Azure IT certifications. Shift work is required (6:00 PM–6:00 AM ET) at the Norfolk area site.
Qualifications
- Requires 1-3 years of prior relevant experience.
- Must be a US Citizen and have DoD Secret Clearance.
- 8570 Compliant meeting the IAT level certification requirements.
- Microsoft Azure Certification AZ-900, AZ-104.
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices (ITIL Foundations).
- Knowledgeable on tools used in an Enterprise organization that aids in Event Management; Incident Management and performance Management to include Service Manager, Remedy, Service Now, Helix.
- Worked in a DoD environment and understands customer communication.
- Experience in a data center environment.
- Performs well under pressure and ability to calm end users.
- Hands-on Experience in working with DoD networks, including NIPR and SIPR.
- Willing to perform shift work: 6:00PM – 6:00AM ET. Shift 4: Thursday-Saturday and every other Wed.

Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport portion of the SMIT program, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. The Active Directory/Exchange Specialist Mid is responsible for monitoring events and incidents that affect server and service health across Enterprise and documenting outage.
- Support and manage the operation, servicing, trouble shooting, and account administration of Active Directory (AD), Exchange, Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM), and the Global Address List (GAL).
- Support the operation, servicing, troubleshooting of Active Directory (AD) and Exchange.
- Monitor Active Directory, Exchange, DHCP, Domain Controllers, AHDS DMZ and other services using various tools and Microsoft PowerShell.
- Adjust simple PowerShell scripts and commands as needed for various results.
- Use VMWare to monitor and troubleshoot servers.
- Analyze various server and workstation logs to assist with resolutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Utilize internal systems to report incidents to leadership.
- Take escalations of any alerts/events identified as significant and requiring action.
- Ensure the Critical Situation Manager is apprised of all details regarding any significant events or incidents.
- Requires 1-3 years of prior relevant experience.

- Ability to define program goals and roadmaps based on customer needs and strategic direction, and ensure that committed projects are delivered on schedule by the relevant team members.

- Motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to create complex technical reports on analytic findings.
