CASES Manhattan MAAP seeks an ACS Preventive Program Supervisor to lead the MAAP team, supervise staff, and ensure high‑quality mentoring services for youth and families. The role is full‑time, in‑person in Manhattan and the Bronx with some remote work and travel across NYC, reporting at 4 West 125th Street.

You will supervise staff, run team meetings, manage referrals, maintain Connections and PROMIS databases, and collaborate with ACS and Fair Futures to sustain services.

Job Title: ACS Preventive Program Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Education, Career and Enrichment (ECE) department at CASES specializes in serving youth and young adults impacted by the criminal legal system and violence.

The Mentoring and Advocacy Program (MAAP) serves youth involved in, or at risk for involvement in, the criminal or juvenile legal systems. CASES’ MAAP serves youth primarily residing in Manhattan who are referred by ACS from the Family Assessment Program (FAP), the Juvenile Justice Initiative (JJI), or residential placement in Close to Home.

MAAP is a one‑on‑one, community‑based mentoring program focused on supporting youth and their families and connecting youth and families to resources in the community. MAAP Mentors support youth for 6 months, and then refer to the internal CASES Fair Futures coaching program for long‑term support. Mentors work individually with each youth up to 20 hours per week, based on the needs of each youth.

CASES Manhattan MAAP is guided by three primary principles related to mentee engagement: 1) Healthy Relationships, which depend on consistent engagement; 2) Interest building, which can promote sustained youth engagement as the young person identifies and works to pursue interests and aspirations; and 3) Civic Engagement, a form of advanced engagement that can empower youth to see themselves as positive agents of change/service in their community.

This position is full‑time and requires in‑person and in‑community work. Work will be conducted primarily in Manhattan and the Bronx, and across NYC, with in‑office reporting responsibilities at 4 West 125th Street. Some travel across CASES offices and partner programs will be expected for trainings, department meetings, etc. Some work may be conducted remotely.

Salary: $78,000.00

Shift Hours: The ACS Preventive Program Supervisor is full‑time Monday through Friday 9am‑5pm shift or 10am‑6pm

Workplace Flexibility: Hybrid (for roles that have at least 1 full day remote per week)

What you will be doing:

• Supervise and support team members in the program; this includes individual weekly supervision, work in the field, and any as‑needed case conferences
• Conduct team meetings and facilitate relevant conversations, such as:
  • Best‑practice engagement techniques
  • Shared challenges across the team
  • Upcoming events, training, and/or group activities
• Adhere to policies and protocols set by ACS Preventive Services
• Operate Connections and PROMIS databases, including managing the contacts of Mentors as well as opening and closing cases
• Receive and assign referrals from ACS referral partners within required preventive timelines
• Create a work environment fostering professional development of the MAAP staff, a multi‑disciplinary team including mentors, social workers and resource specialists
• Promote staff development and competence through training, coaching and structured supervision in motivational interviewing, youth development, engagement, young adult learning, and trauma‑informed care
• Foster a strengths‑based, celebratory, and youth‑centered team and program culture
• Develop strong working relationships with external partners including ACS, Probation, etc.
• Collaborate with Fair Futures supervisors and team to ensure continued services for MAAP youth
• Ensure staff are assigned to and participate in the annual training hours for ACS and CASES compliance
• Timely submission of required monthly metrics and reporting to ACS
• Ensure that administrative and financial procedures are in place
• Participate in MAAP team hiring
• Help MAAP staff prevent and navigate crises, as they arise
• Participate in professional development trainings to better equip yourself to support the program and participants
• Attend tabling events in evenings and weekends to support MAAP program outreach
• Work Flexible hours when required
• Collaborate with larger ECE department to ensure connection and support identifying resources for participants
• Support use of Rewire training throughout team and skill building with youth
• Other duties as assigned by Director
