Job summary

Uber is seeking a Senior Security Technologist to lead diligence, integration, and operational security for acquisitions and subsidiaries. The role blends advisory, hands-on security engineering, and automation to uplift security post‑acquisition environments.

You will automate workflows, deploy security tooling, write integration code, and help respond to incidents across acquired entities, partnering with internal teams and business stakeholders to reduce risk.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud security, infrastructure security, detection and response, or related roles
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field
• Hands-on engineering in modern enterprise environments
• Experience applying risk management in cloud and on-premise environments
• Experience writing code or automation (Python/Go/Bash)
• Experience deploying security technologies in cloud/enterprise environments
• Experience with modern cloud infrastructure and SaaS ecosystems
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows
• Experience supporting or responding to security incidents
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Assess cyber security maturity of acquisition targets across infra, cloud, identity, endpoint, SaaS, and engineering environments
• Identify risks, gaps, and integration challenges in acquired organizations
• Design and implement scalable security integrations for new companies
• Build automation and workflows to accelerate security onboarding and visibility
• Write code/scripts to integrate systems, automate remediation, and improve efficiency
• Use AI-assisted techniques to improve analysis and security operations
• Deploy endpoint security, vulnerability management, logging/telemetry, and IAM tooling
• Coordinate with multiple security and IT teams during acquisitions and integrations
• Respond to incidents involving subsidiaries and acquired entities
• Support containment, remediation, and long-term hardening in incident scenarios
