Job summary

Uber is seeking a Senior Security Technologist to lead security diligence, integration, and operational security for acquisitions and subsidiary environments. You will build automation, deploy security tooling, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to uplift security post‑acquisition.

Ideal candidates have hands‑on security engineering, incident response experience, and the ability to communicate risk to leadership. Travel occasionally; in‑office presence may be required in the US.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security engineering or related technical security roles.
• Hands-on engineering and troubleshooting in modern enterprise environments.
• Experience applying risk management in cloud and on-prem environments.
• Experience writing code or automation (Python/Go/Bash).
• Experience deploying security technologies in cloud/enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Assess the cyber security maturity of acquisition targets across infrastructure, on-prem, cloud, identity, endpoint, SaaS, and engineering environments.
• Identify technical and operational risks, gaps, and integration challenges.
• Design and implement scalable security integrations for acquired companies.
• Build automation, tooling, and workflows for security onboarding and visibility.
• Write code to integrate systems, normalize telemetry, automate remediation and improve efficiency.
• Use AI-assisted workflows to improve analyses and security operations.
• Deploy and operationalize security services (EDR, vulnerability mgmt, logging/telemetry, IR monitoring, IAM, device management, cloud security).
• Partner with Engineering Security, Enterprise Security, Cloud Security, Security Response, IT Privacy, Legal, Corporate Development, and stakeholders; coordinate during acquisition/integration.
• Respond to security incidents involving subsidiaries; support containment, remediation, and long-term hardening.
• Travel occasionally; US-based roles may require in-office presence.
