Overview
Acquisition and Asset Management Associate for a rapidly expanding real estate developer. The role focuses on sourcing, analyzing, and managing build-to-rent (BTR) projects and select investment opportunities. The associate will contribute to both acquisitions and asset oversight, driving portfolio growth and ensuring assets meet financial and operational benchmarks.
Salary / Compensation: $100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
Additional compensation: Annual Bonus and Commission
Location: North/South Carolina – Remote/In-field

Responsibilities
- Identify and assess land and property acquisition opportunities across BTR, multifamily, and other asset classes.
- Lead underwriting, pro forma development, and project budget maintenance.
- Manage due diligence efforts (financial, environmental, feasibility, and market research).
- Draft and negotiate LOIs/PSAs with input from legal and senior leadership.
- Partner with capital providers, legal, accounting, and development teams to coordinate closings.
- Maintain a robust transaction and market database, while building relationships with brokers, developers, and industry peers.
- Track and evaluate financial/operational performance relative to pro forma expectations.
- Collaborate with property managers on business plans, branding, marketing, and retention strategies.
- Develop and oversee portfolio performance scorecards.
- Provide recurring reporting and insights to leadership, investors, and lenders.
- Conduct ongoing market research to refine asset strategies and acquisition decisions.
- Support dispositions by managing broker relationships and monitoring market activity.
- Partner with the development team to navigate entitlements and political processes.
- Prepare materials and participate in investor and lender meetings.
- Maintain organized project records and documentation.
- Recommend strategic or capital improvements to enhance long-term asset value.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 3–5+ years of combined acquisitions, investment, or asset management experience — ideally within BTR, multifamily, or SFR sectors
- Proven real estate experience in the Carolinas
- Strong financial modeling and analytical expertise
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong relationship-building and networking abilities
- Willingness to travel for site visits, meetings, and industry events
- Professional integrity and commitment to teamwork
