Job summary

TECHLITE Acoustics & Insulation in Tempe, AZ is seeking an Acoustics Engineer to design, test, and develop acoustic panels and insulation systems. The role blends acoustics analysis, product development, and cross-functional collaboration in a small, agile manufacturing environment.

You will perform calculations, interpret customer specs, support prototype development, and contribute to technical documentation across sales and production teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of acoustics, materials engineering, or product development
  • Foundational understanding of sound absorption/transmission, NRC, STC, and materials behavior
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with CAD software preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small-team manufacturing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Internship experience in architectural acoustics, manufacturing, or materials testing (preferred)
  • Experience with ASTM acoustic testing standards (preferred)
  • Experience in production or lab environment (preferred)

  • TECHLITE is seeking an Acoustics Engineer to support the design, testing, and development of acoustic and insulation products. This role blends acoustic analysis, product development, materials science, and cross-functional collaboration, offering hands-on exposure to engineered-to-order solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of acoustic panels and insulation systems

  • Experience working in a production or lab environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Acoustics Engineer will perform most of the work in a multi-occupied office environment, with face-to-face customer interactions, and some work is performed on the production floor, near vibrating loud equipment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
