Job summary

TECHLITE Acoustics & Insulation in Tempe, AZ is seeking an Acoustics Engineer to design, test, and develop acoustic and insulation products. The role blends acoustics analysis, materials science, and cross-functional collaboration in a small manufacturing team.

You will perform acoustic calculations, assist in product testing, interpret customer specs, and help translate technical performance into customer-ready solutions, with hands-on problem solving and strict documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of acoustics, materials engineering, or product development.
  • Foundational understanding of sound absorption and transmission principles.
  • Acoustic measurement concepts (NRC, STC, etc.).
  • Materials behavior and performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with CAD software preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small-team manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of acoustic panels and insulation systems.
  • Perform acoustic calculations related to absorption, transmission loss, and noise reduction.
  • Assist in product testing, validation, and documentation.
  • Interpret customer specifications and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical, scalable, and cost-effective.
  • Support prototype development and product improvement initiatives.
  • Work with Sales and Business Development to translate technical performance into customer-ready solutions.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, reports, and product data sheets.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within engineering and production.
