Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. in Irvine is seeking an Acoustic Filter Design Co-Op for Winter/Spring 2027. You will work as part of an RF professional team developing SAW and BAW filters for wireless front-end modules.

The role focuses on improving design efficiency of acoustic filters, with mentorship from senior engineers, and you will gain hands-on experience with RF design tools. This internship offers exposure to high-performance analog semiconductors and opportunities to contribute to

Qualifications

Must be a current student majoring in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Must be willing to work onsite in Irvine for 6 month co-op term.
Understanding of RF fundamentals such as impedance matching, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth and stability.
Prior experience in EM simulation of RF systems.
Strong circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS/Cadence and 2.5/3D EM tools such as Momentum or HFSS.

Responsibilities

Design acoustic wave filters for RF modules, meeting schedules, performance, size and cost goals with senior guidance.
Follow engineering practices to ensure reliability, sustainability and high production yield.
Collaborate with module and systems teams to define filter performance criteria.
