Western Enterprises, now part of Marmon Holdings, is seeking a skilled machinist in Ohio to operate Acme Gridley multi-spindle screw machines, read technical drawings, and ensure product quality. The role involves tool calibration, production planning, and strict adherence to safety and documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Experience operating multi-spindle screw machines or similar production equipment.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools and measuring instruments.

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of relevant machining experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate Acme Gridley multi-spindle automatic screw machines to manufacture parts to specification.
• Inspect coolant, oil level and air pressure before operating the machine.
• Use shop packages including manufacturing orders, bills of materials, routings, part prints, job layouts and quality alerts.
• Ensure gauges and tools are within calibration dates.
• Operate multiple machines as required by routing.
• Perform quality checks and document results.
• Request raw materials in a timely manner and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Follow safe working practices and report unsafe conditions.

What You'll Do

• Operate Acme Gridley multi-spindle automatic screw machines to manufacture parts to specification. Inspect coolant, oil level and air pressure before operating the machine.
• Effectively use shop packages to include, but not limited to, manufacturing orders, bills of materials, routings, part prints, job layouts and quality alerts.
• To ensure that only gages and tools that are used are within calibration dates.
• To operate multiple machines simultaneously as required by the routing.
• Produces product to establish quality standards and notify your direct supervisor if non-conforming product is found.
• Perform quality checks per Inspection Record & documents.
• Request raw materials in a timely manner as needed for production and maintain accuracy of all inventory procedures.
• Follow safe working practices and notify any supervisory personnel or safety team member if an unsafe condition is observed. Replaces worn tools and operates bench grinder to sharpen tools.
• Demonstrates respectful behavior with all employees.
