Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Physician Assistant (ACLS) to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical, and preventive care under the supervision of a licensed physician. The PA will evaluate patients, order and interpret tests, write prescriptions, and participate in both inpatient and outpatient care teams as a licensed practitioner.

ACLS-certified clinicians are preferred for shared leadership in patient management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Graduate from NCCPA-accredited Physician Assistant program.
• One year of clinical experience preferred or required by state guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical and preventive care under physician supervision.
• Perform hx taking, prescribing, ordering tests, and interpreting results.
• Assume independent practice within license boundaries and care team framework.
• Collaborate with inter-professional team to develop and implement care plans.
• Supervise and mentor PA students and residents as appropriate.
