Job summary

The BART Police Department is seeking an experienced professional to serve as its Manager of Accreditation. This role leads CALEA accreditation efforts and advises on standards, compliance, and readiness.

Reporting to a Deputy Police Chief, you will supervise staff, coordinate accreditation activities, and provide training to police managers and other agencies to uphold professional excellence and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
• 5 years of full-time law enforcement experience with 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Manages accreditation program operations for the BART Police Department.
• Serves as expert on CALEA standards and compliance; interprets standards for agency directives.
• Oversees accreditation activities and provides guidance and training across the department.
• Collaborates with executive leadership to ensure policies align with accreditation standards.
• Stays abreast of accreditation changes and evaluates impact on the agency.
