Job summary

University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security is seeking an Accreditation Program Manager to lead the division's CALEA/IACLEA accreditation efforts and strengthen compliance across policies and procedures.

The role reports to the Director of Policy and Professional Standards, developing forms programs, conducting data-driven reviews, and supporting leadership with accreditation-related training and liaison activities with accrediting bodies and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• Four years of relevant experience in accreditation or standards compliance in law enforcement, higher education, or corporate settings; CALEA/IACLEA preferred.
• Experience designing and developing standardized forms or supervising a forms program.
• Experience developing and authoring employer policies aligned with best practices.
• Experience analyzing data and preparing analytical reports.
• Strong planning, organization, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement, including leadership-level audiences.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Manage accreditation processes, ensuring policies align with CALEA/IACLEA standards.
• Direct and supervise accreditation activities of department coordinators.
• Develop, implement, and manage the forms program used by employees and the public.
• Participate in policy development and revision to ensure clarity and best practices alignment.
• Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports on high-risk activities for leadership.
• Develop and deliver accreditation-related training for staff and leadership.
• Liaise with accrediting bodies, peer institutions, and stakeholders; represent DPSS in coalitions and conferences.
• Other duties as assigned.
