Job summary

Clarity Care, Inc. in Oshkosh, WI seeks an Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team and oversee budgeting, reporting, and audits.

You will manage month-end closes, develop operating and capital budgets, and supervise payroll activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness. The role requires a bachelor’s in accounting (CPA/CMA preferred), strong knowledge of general ledger systems, and experience with NetSuite.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA/CMA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience with budgeting and financial statements.
  • Experience supervising accounting and payroll staff.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite and general ledger controls.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the accounting close by preparing monthly financial statements and ensuring journal entries are created.
  • Lead the development of the annual Operating and Capital Budgets.
  • Supervise the Payroll function.
  • Develop rates for payment relating to services including Client Care and Room & Board.

The Accounting Manager carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: budgeting, rate development, financial reporting, and auditing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the accounting close by preparing monthly financial statements and ensuring journal entries are created. The goal is to generate accurate accounting records, completing them in a timely manner.
  • Lead the development of the annual Operating and Capital Budgets to meet the organization’s financial goals. Educate management and provide direction on as needed basis to include, but not limited to, explanation of budget variances and proper accounting treatment.
  • Supervise the Payroll function. Direct, supervise and evaluate select Accounting & Payroll Staff and teams to meet organizational and staff needs.
  • Develop rates for payment relating to various services of the organization including, but not limited to, Client Care and Supervision, and Room & Board. In collaboration with the finance team, continue to assess software needs, organization alignment and efficiency findings, as well as understanding the services the finance offers to better ensure their adequate delivery to our team.
  • Maintain the General Ledger and related Reports including, but not limited to, the Chart of Accounts and F9 reports.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports at the request of Executive Leadership.
  • Interpret the results of complex financial analyses, develop conclusions, and make recommendations.
  • Manage the Annual Financial Audit to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Appropriately bring to management’s attention actual or potential violations of Clarity Care’s code of conduct, standards, policies, and/or procedures.
  • Act as a team member within the department and organization to assist in accomplishing goals and objectives.
  • Attendance on the job, continuous education, training and meetings as scheduled.
  • Cooperate with supervisors and all members involved in evaluating and improving performance. with the direction and supervision of a variety of individuals including Executive team.
Education/Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, CMA/CPA certification preferred Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting and specific experience with developing Operating and Capital Budget, preparing and analyzing various financial statements/reports.
  • Thorough knowledge of general business administration practices and related supervisory experience.
  • Posses advanced computer skills to include, but not limited to, Microsoft Word & Excel, Internet, and Outlook e-mail.
  • Knowledge of General Ledger applications, experience with NetSuite preferred.
  • Must possess a valid WI driver’s license, and ability to meet agency driving standards. Must provide proof of auto insurance.
  • Must pass a periodic WI Caregiver Background Checks including Department of Justice Criminal Record Checks, and/or that of previous states of residence.
