Job summary

Famous Supply, a wholesale distributor serving contractors and builders, seeks an Accounts Receivable/Cash Application Specialist. You will apply customer payments, post deposits, and maintain precise account balances while handling billing inquiries and discrepancies with a focus on accuracy and timely processing.

The role requires strong Excel skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with AIA billing is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Apply daily customer payments and post checks from daily deposits.
• Post ACH, wire transfers, and credit card payments from the daily bank statement.
• Monitor and clear unapplied cash/payments daily.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer communications in the accounting system.
• Set up COD accounts.
• Process weekly deposits and take to the bank.
• Handle insufficient balance NSF and stop payment checks with follow-up to Credit Manager for resolution and accuracy.
• Address billing errors or payment inquiries from customers and provide responses.
• Contact customers immediately with any discrepancies.
• Respond to invoice requests, run credit card payments, and apply payments to customer accounts.

The Accounts Receivable/Cash Application Specialist is responsible for accurately and efficiently applying customer payments to accounts receivable, researching payment discrepancies, and maintaining accurate customer account balances. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting daily deadlines

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Apply daily customer payments. Posting checks from daily deposits from PNC Portal
• Posting ACH, wire transfers, and credit card payments from the daily bank statement
• Monitor and clear unapplied cash/payments daily
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer communications through the company’s accounting system
• Setting up COD accounts
• Process weekly deposit and take to the bank
• Process insufficient balance NSF and stop payment checks to accounts with follow up to Credit Manager to customer for resolution checks with accuracy
• Appropriate handling of Customer calls regarding billing errors or payments
• Contact customer immediately with any discrepancies
• Answer calls/ send invoice copies per customers request/ run credit card payments and apply customer account

• Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with AIA billing is a strong bonus

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Cash Application
• Experience with credit applications, processes, and forms
• Knowledge of construction billing, progress billing, lien waivers
• DOS program background
• 1-3 years of accounting experience
