Job description

Job Title: Accounts Receivable Representative II

The Accounts Receivable Representative II is responsible for collecting outstanding accounts receivable from third-party payers, including both government and commercial entities.

Note: US Anesthesia Partners does not currently hire candidates residing in New York, California, Hawaii, or Alaska.

Job Highlights

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation)

  1. Contact insurance companies for status updates on outstanding claims.
  2. Process and follow up on appeals to insurance companies.
  3. Refill claims as needed.
  4. Work on correspondence daily.
  5. Maintain basic proficiency with spreadsheets.
  6. Audit adjustment requests and complete them when appropriate.
  7. Resolve manual tasks assigned to AR for follow-up.
  8. Manage outstanding Accounts Receivable from assigned work queues.
  9. Meet productivity standards set by the department.
  10. Maintain an accuracy rating of 97% or higher on audited accounts.
  11. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  12. Contact patients for payment or payment arrangements on outstanding balances.
  13. Aim to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across multiple workflows and payers.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of professional or healthcare experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of Accounts Receivable experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills for calculations related to reimbursement and adjustments.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance processing, guidelines, laws, and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
  • Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.
  • High accuracy in data entry.
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and ASA codes.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, physicians, and external customers.
  • Positive attitude and high tolerance level.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with limited supervision.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
