Accounts Receivable Representative II (Remote)

Job Overview

Under the supervision of the Collections Supervisor or Manager, the Accounts Receivable Representative II manages accounts receivable for assigned payers. Responsibilities include contacting payers, working collection reports and correspondence, auditing accounts, appealing denied claims, updating accounts, identifying denial trends, and meeting departmental productivity standards. The role also involves coordinating patient responsibility transfers and following up on additional insurance collections.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review and forward manual paper claims requiring special handling
  • Document billing activities ensuring compliance with regulations and report issues
  • Review claims for accuracy and collaborate with departments for audits
  • Correct errors from electronic payer reports to optimize submissions
  • Follow up on aged accounts and formulate appeals
  • Accurately record all follow-up actions
  • Monitor claim rejections for trends and report findings
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and third parties
  • Assist with credit balance reviews and resolutions
  • Participate in training and special projects

Qualifications
Education:
