Job summary

Bartlett Roofing is seeking an Accounts Receivable Representative to keep customer accounts accurate and payments moving smoothly. You will collaborate with Accounting and Sales to resolve questions and manage overdue balances while maintaining excellent service for clients and insurers.

Responsibility includes invoicing, payment processing, insurance claim follow-up, AR aging reporting, and cross-functional collaboration. This is a full-time, on-site role in the Spokane Valley office.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of accounting-related experience.
• Experience with accounts receivable and customer service.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Comfortable learning new accounting software.
• Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and send customer invoices.
• Process and deposit customer checks and reconcile payments.
• Maintain ACH and check deposit records.
• Reconcile expenses and close jobs after final payment.
• Monitor overdue balances and communicate with Sales.
• Assist Sales with billing questions and account information.
• Make daily follow-up calls on overdue payments.
• Contact insurance companies on claims and payment status.
• Maintain AR aging reports and support monthly closing.
• Collaborate with Accounting for timely financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve AR processes.
• Ensure compliance with company AR policies.

We're looking for an Accounts Receivable Representative to help manage customer accounts, payments, outstanding balances, and insurance claims. If you're detail-oriented, comfortable having conversations about payments, and enjoy solving problems while working with multiple teams, we'd love to meet you.

Pay Range: $22-$29 hourly DOE

Job Type: Full-Time, this is not a remote position.

What You’ll Do

As an Accounts Receivable Representative, you'll play an important role in keeping Bartlett Roofing's financial operations running smoothly by managing customer payments, following up on outstanding balances, and supporting both our Accounting and Sales teams.

• Prepare and send customer invoices.
• Process and deposit customer checks and reconcile customer payments.
• Maintain accurate ACH and check deposit records.
• Reconcile expenses and close out jobs once final payment has been received and applied.
• Monitor outstanding accounts and communicate with Sales personnel regarding overdue balances.
• Assist the Sales team with customer billing questions and account information.
• Make daily follow-up calls to customers regarding overdue payments.
• Contact insurance companies regarding outstanding claims and payment status.
• Assist in resolving billing discrepancies and payment disputes.
• Prepare and maintain accurate accounts receivable aging reports.
• Collaborate with the Accounting department to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts receivable.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining positive relationships with customers and insurance carriers.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency within the accounts receivable function.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable requirements related to accounts receivable.
• Utilize accounting software to accurately manage customer accounts and payment information.
• Assist with additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• 1-2 years of experience in accounting, accounts receivable, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Comfortable working with accounting software and learning new systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.
• Confident communicating with customers, insurance carriers, and internal teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve billing and payment issues professionally.
• Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Self-motivated and comfortable following up on outstanding items without constant direction.
