Atkore is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to be based at the Harvey, IL location, just south of Chicago. The role focuses on applying payments, processing remittances, and assisting in monthly closings in accordance with GAAP and SOX within a multi-facility environment.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting and at least 3+ years of AR or accounting experience, including JD Edwards and MS Office. Strong communication, accuracy, and pace are required to succeed.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle high volume transactions in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
• Experience using JD Edwards or a comparable ERP system.

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to be based out of our Harvey, IL location, just 20 miles south of downtown Chicago. This individual will perform a variety of cash application duties, ensuring that all remittance data is applied to customer accounts in accordance with and consistent with all generally accepted accounting principles, SOX requirements, and Atkore International policies and procedures.

What you’ll do:

• Apply payments to customer ledger details.

Within 3 months you’ll:

• Complete your Atkore immersion program
• Gain an understanding of the team and the procedures the team owns

Within 6 months you’ll:

• Be proficient at processing basic cash application using JD Edwards
• Develop relationships with internal partners needed for success in the day-to‑day position
• Begin learning more advanced processes in JDE regarding cash application

Within 12 months you’ll:

• Be fully trained and functional in your position
• Be able to communicate efficiently with customers and resolve any payment questions that arise

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $ 48,880 - $67,210 . Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
