Job summary

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) seeks an Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead all A/P operations in a high-volume, government finance setting. You will ensure GAAP/GASB compliance, supervise staff, and partner with internal programs and vendors to maintain strong internal controls.

• GAAP and GASB experience applied to governmental accounting.
• High-volume A/P operations experience.
• Supervising accounting teams and workload priorities.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all Accounts Payable operations including processing and approvals.
• Respond to auditors, vendors, internal customers, and leadership.
• Monitor controls for A/P workflows and purchasing alignment.
• Manage City credit card program including monitoring and reporting.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end close and deadlines.
• Review complex transactions: requisitions, contracts, travel, encumbrances.
• Supervise and develop the A/P team; hiring and coaching.
• Develop and refine A/P procedures for compliance and efficiency.
