JOB PURPOSE

The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for performing a range of accounting and clerical tasks related to the accounts payable function, while supervising a less experienced staff member.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage workflow, create team schedules, and identify areas for improvement
• Ensure that business goals, deadlines, and performance standards are met
• Develop guidelines for proper handling and coding of invoices
• Confirm correct payments are made in a timely manner
• Analyze expense reports, credit card statements, and other invoices for accuracy
• Maintain vendor account information and relationships
• Process weekly check runs
• Match receiving/purchasing documents with invoices and work with other departments to analyze and reconcile discrepancies
• Perform monthly reconciliations and assist with year-end audit testing samples
• Complete data entry associated with accounts payable within a large ERP system
• Track recurring monthly expenses to maintain timely recording
• Other ad hoc finance/accounting functions as directed by the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate's degree required.
• Minimum 2 years Supervisory experience.
• 5-7 years’ experience with accounts payable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• SAP software and VIM experience preferred.
