Job Description and Duties

This position is located at the Natural Resources (DWR) Headquarters in Sacramento. Under the general supervision of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), the Accounting Officer/Accountant Trainee is responsible for invoice payment processing functions, including vendor invoices, DWR purchases and activity. Ensures timely submittal of payable invoice packages for a variety of disbursement requests. Monitor, research and analyze accounting transactions, and develop, maintain cooperative working relationships with others.

We are seeking candidates with Accounts Payables experience, knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, computer skills, and analytical/problem solving skills. Must have the ability to interpret policies and procedures, and to adhere to the laws written in the State Administrative Manual (SAM) and other governing references. Must be able to work cooperatively and possess a basic knowledge of accounting systems such as SAP.
