Job summary

First State Bank is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to work onsite at the West Clay location. The role involves processing invoices, handling payments by check or ACH, reconciling statements, and maintaining accurate records in line with bank policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• One to two years job related experience in Banking and/or Accounts Payable preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Sort and distribute incoming mail.
• Process all payables requests by check or ACH.
• Audit and process credit card bills.
• Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly.
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
• Complete departmental tasks including tracking fixed assets and expenses, budget forecasting, etc.
